Peahen is made up of a designer-editor team and we’ve been making children’s books for oodles of years. Children’s Publishing is a fantastic place to be but it occurred to us that it’s grown-ups making all of the decisions about what children would like to read and maybe it’s time kids were making their stories, hence our strapline ‘Books for kids by kids’!

So many children write amazing stories every day and love to draw and design but the stories sit there in notepads. How amazing to have your own book that’s completely original and something to be treasured always.

We can work with any text and any artwork.

Here are some guidelines:

1. Write a story
   The story can be about anything. It doesn’t matter how long the story is, we will design it to fit into a bespoke book.
2. Illustrate pictures to go with the story
   A picture per page is a good start.
3. Think of a book title
4. Have fun!
   We offer different packages where you can have one mini book printed or go the whole hog and print as many as you want, add an ISBN and sell it!
